Nha Trang, Vietnam Day 22

Our most stressful morning yet! We arrived in Nha Trang earlier then expected at 5am greeted by annoying moped taxis whilst rushing off the bus. Also, for some particular reason our 3G data stopped working at the start of our bus ride - so we basically arrived in Nha Trang with nothing booked (I definitely recommend to not do this). We usually review and book our hostel first thing, however we now had to wait until we got wifi in Nha Trang. Luckily Lucy got chatting to a group of Irish girls on the bus who were staying at a cheap hotel called Diva so that became our plan, turn up with them and hope they have a room!
The one thing we learnt from our previous bus is to not trust any moped taxis so whilst we were waiting for a car taxi we took the time to connect to wifi and find out how far and how long away Diva hotel is (https://www.hostelworld.com/hosteldetails.php/Diva-Hotel/Nha-Trang/277510) , thankfully it was only a 20 minute walk. We then chucked our bags into the back of the taxi and had to negotiate a fair price even though the taxi had a running metre. The driver's English was not great so we ended up going the wrong way a few times, in the end we had to jump out and walk otherwise it would have been hand directions for the rest of the journey - we were too tired for this! Whilst we jumped out of the taxi the driver quickly got out with us to open the boot and hand us our bags, however Lucy suddenly noticed her bag was a lot lighter and screamed "Where is my laptop?!". After a moments panic I then noticed the blue case on Lucy's laptop hidden in the boot of the taxi which began to raise massive alarm bells as we never took the laptop out of our bags in the first place. Lucy then reached over and quickly grabbed the laptop whilst the driver stood there playing dumb, probably realizing we have just caught him out! He had obviously gone into our bag, taken the laptop out and put it there thinking he could hand the bags over to us quickly, shut the boot and race off so we wouldn't notice. Because it was still very early in the morning and the streets were empty we resisted confronting him as we were in a brand new place in Vietnam that we didn't know much about, for all we know this guy could be a lot more dangerous than we expect so with both of us in shock we walked away quickly trying to absorb what had just happened - we were furious!
After all of this we finally got to our hotel in one piece and thankfully they had a private room available (£5 each for the night) so it didn't take us long to drop our bags and try sleep for the rest of the morning, even though we were still extremely wound up from earlier. We made our way out to explore Nha Trang to see what food it had to offer, unfortunately nothing looked great within walking distance so we made our way back to the hotel and the extremely kind receptionist ordered us a pizza hut to enjoy in the room. With the way our morning planned out we were so drained, this was definitely worth it!
I did warn you that today was stressful, onwards and upwards to a new day tomorrow!
