We both woke up quite excited this morning as we were up and ready early to go and grab some food before heading to Hoa Lo Prison. For brunch we decided to visit our favourite ladies who own a Bánh mì cart, everyone we have met has said they are the best in town and they are definitely right (check out meal 11 for what we rated it on our eat page).

After a hilarious taxi ride with the uber driver that spoke barely any English we were finally in the prison! Hỏa Lò Prison was a prison used by the French colonists in Vietnam for political prisoners, and later by North Vietnam for U.S. Prisoners of War during the Vietnam War. It was really interesting seeing the walls covered with broken glass so nobody could escape, the guillotine they used to behead people with and the ankle shackles in tiny cells. We then got an Uber back to the hostel about to walk into our dorm when we realized I left my bag either in the Uber or at the prison (Oops). A few people on our trip in Hanoi have mentioned that taking Uber Moto was a cheap and easy way to travel around, so after 30 minutes of trying to call the Uber driver who didn't speak a word of English Alfie kindly jumped on the back of a moped and whizzed back to the prison to see if it was there - Luckily it was, phew

As we chilled for the rest of the afternoon we thought we would pop out for some food and unfortunately didn't get far. After paying for tomorrow's bus to Ha Long Bay we dashed to the ATM to withdraw some cash and realized Alfie's debit card wasn't in his wallet (not ideal). We rushed back to the hostel to see if it was in the lockers or our bags but there was no sign of it, we are wondering if it was taken out of our locker when it was open but I guess we'll never know! With this happening we were on the phone to the bank for the rest of the night and grabbed some late night snacks as we never did end up going out for food! With having to sort Alfie's card out we decided to stay an extra day/night tomorrow in Hanoi so we were a bit gutted we weren't off on our next adventure tomorrow!
