Our second day on the island and it was...absolutely chucking it down. The storm must have started around 5am that morning with extremely loud thunder and lightening. People that were due to catch a flight or leave the island were basically stuck because the government called off all ferries leaving or coming to the island. There was one person who had a flight to catch every day for the next 3 days which meant she was going to miss them all along with other people that had outgoing flights the day after. Luckily for Alfie and I we had 0 plans as it was fair to say our swimming pool day was definitely off.

Unfortunately the electricity and AC were cut off and all of the backpackers at the hostel were chilling in the lobby, playing cards or sitting under cover watching the storm allowing us to meet a few other people as we hadn't really been that social the day before (oops). Luckily Alfie got chatting to someone from the UK with a UK Bank Card meaning we could transfer some money to him and withdraw it before we get our new card - yay!

Thankfully the storm passed later on so Alfie and I decided to get a taxi down to the front of the island where the strip of restaurants are as we were starting to pull our hair out at the hostel. We had an absolute FEAST (Check out meal 13 on our eat page) at a semi Italian restaurant I found on Trip Advisor, it was amazing to finally have cash again, not be sharing meals between us and finally enjoying parts of the island.

After this crazy cheesy meal we had major carb snoozes and called it a night!
