After such a well needed sleep last night we were up and excited for our first breakfast in the hotel, we had a great omelette and were very impressed with the breakfast buffet for once! Outside the sky was bright blue and the temperature was perfect - the pool was definitely calling! The pool seemed to be a popular spot to hang out during the day as the sun beds were taken quickly in the morning.
By the time we were about to get changed to go down to the pool Alfie had realized that we left our bikini/swim shorts in Cat Ba island outside on the drying rack - fabulous. Luckily enough for Alfie he had an extra pair of shorts, however I obviously didn't so it was time to find one quickly. Fortunately Hoi An is very well known for their tailors as there are hundreds scattered around town showcasing their designs on mannequins. After checking out two tailors that didn't really have what I was looking for we found a very sweet lady who had a variety of amazing bikinis who couldn't have been more helpful in helping me choose, I must have tried at least 10 on before finding a perfect black one!
For the rest of the afternoon we soaked up the sun by the pool, had a quick lunch and played a game of pool and table football. Later on that evening we went out for yet again a really nice but cheap meal (Check out meal 21 on our eat page) and checked out the night market that is highly reviewed here. The market had beautiful handmade jewellery, lanterns, clothes, shoes and lots of different street food including rolled ice cream, banana crepes, juice stalls and Vietnamese spring rolls. Vietnamese children were also dressed as dragons performing a traditional act for the public, after researching we found out that in Asian culture dragons are considered sacred animals with extraordinary powers and are the symbols of luck and good omens therefore the dance is a sign of national power and a cultural feature of Vietnam - pretty cool!
After a lot of walking we called it a night quite early as we were pretty excited for an evening in our private room with better wifi so we could watch our first movie in almost a month!
