Take 2 of our beach day and we are in LUCK! The sun is shining, the sky is bright blue and the news was thankfully wrong about the storm continuing for 3 more days (we would have probably killed each other). This morning we moved to a twin room due to the hostel being fully booked, as this was taking a little longer than expected we headed out for coffee round 2 (it was that good).
As soon as we moved into the new place we chucked our bags in and haggled a good price to rent a moped for the day. The drive down to Cua Dai Beach was beautiful, it was very refreshing to have a sense of freedom on the bike again instead of having to walk everywhere/take taxis. The beach we went to was very quiet and peaceful with clear warm water and white sand - yes! We soaked up the sun for a few hours and decided to explore Hội An a bit more to find the best place to watch the sunset. On our way we were lucky enough to drive through the rice paddys for the first time, as we stopped to take some pictures we noticed a huge buffalo rolling so playfully in the mud - definitely something you don't see everyday. We watched the sunset on a bridge overlooking the river then went on to drive through the Vegetable Village. The village was so green and full of smiley Vietnamese gardeners looking after their crops saying hello. As we were racing through a tiny path on the way home we saw a buffalo and her baby bathing in the lake together, this for me was definitely the icing on the cake for what a perfect day we have had.
As you can imagine after the day we have had we were of course, starving! (Check out meal 24 on our eat page). We pretty much crashed shortly after as we knew we had another busy day tomorrow.
It is definitely a day like this that makes you appreciate just how lucky we are to be able to travel and experience the things we do. It is safe to say we have fell in love with Hội An!
