It's fair to say we have had a very similar day today as yesterday - Another day another beach! This morning we decided to swap our private room for a dorm room as it's something we said we would do to mix up our stay here in Hoi An, so we are back on bunk-beds for the night. After moving our backpacks we visited the same local man as yesterday to rent our moped for the day and we made our way down to An Bang beach, he was chuffed and so were were because it cost us only $4 to rent!
We arrived at the beach around midday and instantly sat down at a restaurant on the beach front to have some lunch before we laid our towels on the beach ready to soak up the sun. We had a lovely table nearest to the sea with a great view of the beach so there was no intention of us rushing our meal, we sat and enjoyed the breeze with a little bite to eat and an ice cold beer - lovely! Afterwards we searched for a spot on the beach and quickly made our way into the sea to cool off. This beach is much more popular than Cua Dai beach, there were a lot more tourists and families with kids which we didn't mind because we had a very relaxed day at the beach yesterday. It didn't take me long to bury myself in the sand whilst Lucy laid there with her headphones in tanning - we really needed a bat and ball!
We left the beach before sunset and thought it would be a good idea to try and find a pool so we cheekily attempted to try and sneak into a 5-star beach resort on our way home called The Palm Beach. We parked up and we were instantly questioned by security guards so we decided not to try our luck with the pool but go for a walk around the resort. It was very similar to 5 star resorts in Dubai therefore we were pleasantly surprised with how lovely this place was, we are so glad we visited!
By this time we had around 20 minutes until sunset and we wanted yet another great view, our hotel receptionist recommended to watch the sunset on Cau Dai bridge so we headed there fairly quickly. We weren't too sure why this bridge would be the best place to watch the sunset but once we approached the bridge we were shocked at how big it was (It was huge!). The moped must have swallowed a litre of petrol just to get up the bridge! Anyway, we stopped at the top and watched the beautiful the sunset which was amazing!
Not long after we went back to the hostel to shower then headed back out for a local Banh Mi Lucy found on TripAdvisor (Check out meal 25 on our eat page!) It was known to be the best Vietnamese bread in the local area and it didn't let us down - a perfect way to finish the day!
