Our first wake up in Koh Samui and wow did we need that sleep, we were so appreciative after all of the hostels we have stayed in to have our own private room and bathroom.
We were so excited to be cooking our own breakfast this morning too. Obviously this is something we hadn't done for a while so I don't think we realised just how much we missed having a kitchen until making our own eggs, beans and toast. Alfie and I have always been very passionate about cooking together and for the past six weeks we have eaten out in restaurants every single day. South East Asia is different to Europe as in Europe the hostels all have small kitchens where you are free to cook whatever you would like, however in South East Asia the food is that cheap that backpackers don't need to be buying food from supermarkets and cooking for themselves.
The rain then started to pour so we spent the day with our heads in my laptop whilst appreciating Darren's absolutely stunning house. Not only is the place great but they also have three special extras that we haven't had for a while...doggies! Darren rescued all of his dogs from the island when they were puppies and they are all such sweethearts (I'm literally in my element).
Later on in the evening Alfie and I were of course desperate for some really good Thai food so went out with Darren's family (Check out Meal 35 on our EAT page).
