Phnom Penh, Cambodia Day 1

Our last wake up in Vietnam, cannot believe our four weeks is up! After having breakfast we attempted to board the bus to Cambodia at 8:30am. Running slightly behind we ended up being a tiny bit late and had to jump on the back of our hotel receptionist's moped to the bus station - we made it!

The bus was very comfortable with leg rests and reclinable chairs, we had definitely been on worse. After three hours we arrived at the border

where we were prepared to be extremely patient as we couldn't help but expect it to be a bit of a nightmare. We were so surprised with how smooth, quick and easy it was (almost too easy). We handed over our passports to the bus co-ordinator who took care of everything whilst we had lunch and waited for our passports to be stamped, we were back on the bus and on the road within half an hour still wondering if we had done this correctly...

We arrived at Mad Monkey at 4pm (https://www.hostelworld.com/hosteldetails.php/Mad-Monkey-Phnom-Penh/Phnom-Penh/53012) and after freshening ourselves up we had a twenty minute walk through the capital to the busy streets to have some dinner! A huge difference that we both instantly noticed in Cambodia is that it is so much quieter, the mopeds don't hysterically beep at you every second and everything just feels that little bit calmer. We didn't do much after dinner as we knew our friend Adam was arriving tomorrow!
