Since Alfie and I arrived in South East Asia we have said we would love to go to a waterfall, six weeks on and we still haven't been to one but today is our day! I guess the main reason for this is all of the waterfalls we have seen are connected to long day tours we haven't really been interested in going on, simply because we really enjoyed having our own freedom.

Darren has kindly given us his spare moped to use whilst we are here too, which has proven to be really handy. The weather was still on the overcast side with spots of rain, however we took no notice and sped off into the mountains to Namuang Waterfall 1 and 2. As we pulled up I don't think we had really prepared ourselves for how strenuous this two hour eighty metre vertical hike would be! Due to the weather becoming increasingly wetter the hike turned into a slippery one, with only a piece of string to hold as you scale the rocks for grip we pulled ourselves higher and higher before coming to a gap where you had to cross the mountain through the waterfall itself (who doesn't love soggy socks and trainers?). As we reached about seventy metres high we came face to face with a nothing but flat rock we had to pull ourselves up before reaching the viewing point. Although the weather was grey the view of Koh Samui was worth it! As we slowly crept back down it all of a sudden felt really good to have done something like this with Alfie. Sometimes with your head buried into a laptop you can get caught up causing you to forget how great it feels to be out in the open and most importantly, active.

Later on that evening Darren's wife, Pia cooked us a homemade meal where we chilled out in the evening and watched a movie with a cup of tea - lush!
