We stepped off our night bus at 6am this morning still half asleep ready to board the ferry to the island, the ferry seemed to be a lot choppier than normal as it ended up taking three hours instead of two. The last stretch of our trip is slightly different as I have a family friend who has lived on the island for fifteen years called Darren. Darren has recently built a new house and kindly offered one of his spare rooms to us whilst we are here (no more hostel life, yay!). This is exactly what we needed as we can relax, chill and catch up on the blog whilst exploring Koh Samui.
The last time I visited the island was three years ago so unlike all of the other places we have been too Koh Samui is not new to me however it is new to Lucy, I am buzzing to show off the island to her as I absolutely love this place. We spent most of the morning driving around the island to give Lucy a brief tour with Darren who kindly picked us up from the pier, afterwards we had a lovely lunch which Darren obviously recommended (Check out meal 33 on our EAT page).
For the rest of the day we relaxed at his house and when I say it's lovely I mean it is probably the biggest house on the island, no joke! We chilled and sat around his pool before heading out for dinner with Darren and his six year old son.
Really looking forward to the next week!
